Refering to the last agricultural structure survey in the year 2007 the forest area of agricultural and forestry holdings in Germany covered about 8.8 million hectare. 7.4 million hectares of this forest area are managed by forestry holdings which means holdings with at least 10 hectares of forest area without relevant agricultural production. In agricultural holdings 1.4 million hectare forest areas were proven. Forest areas managed by forest ry holdings are divided by type of ownership as follows: 46% state forest, 31% communal forest and 23% private forest. The next agricultural structure survey in forestry holdings will be carried out in 2010.
