WIESBADEN – In Germany there was a total of twelve million games consoles in households at the beginning of 2008. As reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) on the occasion of the International Toy Fair held in Nuremberg from 5 to 10 February 2009, in almost every fifth household (19%) there was at least one console to play with. 20% of console owners had two of these, 12% owned even more than two games consoles. Households with children are the best equipped: in 44% of couples’ households with children and in 43% of single parents’ households there was a console to play with. Compared with that, only 11% of couples without a child and 7% of singles possessed a games console.
