Question
What is new in the publications since the 2005 revision?
Answer
Price-adjusted data are presented in Fachserie 18 “Volkswirtschaftliche Gesamtrechnungen“ only as chain-linked indices and rates of change, not as (chain-linked) levels in EUR bn.
For deflated data, the term “price-adjusted“ is used.
Chain-linked indices are additionally termed “chain-linked index (2000=100)“, relating to the reference year 2000.
For the two items “balance of exports and imports“ and “changes in inventories“, only contributions to growth in percentage points are shown.
Due to the new aggregates, the results are rounded differently:
- chain indices with two decimal places;
- chain-linked level series in EUR bn. with five decimal places (only upon request);
- level series (not chain-linked) at previous year's prices in EUR bn with two decimal places (only upon request);
- rates of change with one decimal place (presented as in the past);
- calculation of rates of change and of indices generally based on rounded values.
