Labour market
The respondents' answer to the question about full-time or part-time employment is based on their own assessment and not defined according to working hours.
The part-time employment rate determined by the microcensus for the total of persons in employment is somewhat lower than that published elsewhere. Judging from current evidence, this could be due to differences in the coverage of small-scale employment. Covering small-scale employment in household surveys can be problematical if the respondents mainly consider themselves as pensioners, unemployed, housewives/househusbands or students and sometimes fail to mention small second jobs during the interview. In contrast to this, other publications are often based on the legally required reports on marginal part-time work.
