Microcensus data in the form of a scientific use file

De facto anonymised microdata files

For reasons of data privacy protection, the microcensus original data are anonymised and, in the form of a scientific use file, can be provided to and be used by independent domestic research institutions for their analyses. Currently, microcensus data are available at a price of EUR 65.00 each for the years 1973, 1976, 1982, 1989, 1991, 1993, 1995, and 1996 until 2004. Users receive the files in ASCII format on a CD-ROM.
The de facto anonymised microdata material is supplied by the Federal Statistical Office. Also, users are provided with assistance and information by the Federal Statistical Office in co-operation with the Center for Survey Research and Methodology (ZUMA). Furthermore, the Office provides documents with detailed information on the variables and classifications used. In co-operation with ZUMA, additional information (e.g. on the questionnaire, data record description and setup for loading microcensus files into SPSS) is released and hence accessible on the World Wide Web.
