Observe the price trends for frequently purchased products!
The charts show the trend of the consumer price index for Germany for some examples of goods and services.
In each category (for example food or clothing), frequently purchased products were selected as examples.
The data of the price monitor always refer to comparisons with 2005. The charts show the percentage by which the prices are higher or lower in a given month compared to the annual average in 2005. The price monitor will be updated monthly.
Example: A value of -13% in January 2002 for gas means that the prices of gas in January 2002 were on an average 13% lower than in 2005.
