The data of German official statistics enjoy a reputation of high reliability both within the country and abroad. In addition, the statistical offices are generally recognised as modern and customer-friendly authorities. The statistical offices of the Federation and the federal states have adopted quality standards in order to ensure that the quality level achieved by our statistical surveys is maintained and further improved. Quality standards represent the quality assurance methods and procedures to be used as guidance in all phases of survey implementation in official statistics. The quality standards and the Code of Practice are available as a detailed version, which can be downloaded as PDF files.
