Households are important consumers on the goods and services markets, they determine the housing market trends and form the social basis of our society. Household projections show the extent to which households will change in the future in terms of number and size structure. They provide a starting basis for projections in the business field and public administration, such as e.g. projections of private demand for consumer durables, of the need for nursing care services and institutions as well as reliance on municipal services.
