Functioning as a link between producers and consumers, trade plays a central role in the economy. The development of trade turnover - in particular, retail trade turnover - is regarded as an important indicator for short-term economic analysis.
Conversion to thenational Classification of Economic Activities,2008 edition – WZ2008in domestic trade, hotel and restaurant industry
From reference month January 2009, results for domestic trade and the hotel and restaurant industry have been shown only in a breakdown by the WZnational Classification of Economic Activities 2008 with base year 2005. Results up to and including the reference month of December 2008 will be rebased to 2005 and converted to the WZnational Classification of Economic Activities 2008 so that the comparability of data is ensured.
