Producer prices

Producer prices 2011: +5.7% on 2010 – highest year-on-year rate since 1982

In 2011 the index of producer prices for industrial products (domestic sales) for Germany rose by 5.7% on an annual average from the preceding year. This was the highest year-on-year-rate since 1982 (+6.0%). A year before the index had been up 1.6%.
In December 2011 the index of producer prices for industrial products rose by 4.0% from the corresponding month of the preceding year. In November 2011 the annual rate of change had been +5.2%. Compared with the preceding month, the index fell by 0.4% in December 2011 (+0.1% in November 2011).

Wholesale prices in January 2012: +3.0% on January 2011

The index of selling prices in wholesale trade was up 3.0% in January 2012 on January 2011. Compared with December 2011, the index of wholesale prices rose by 1.2% in January 2012.
