Consumer prices in January 2010: +0.8% on January 2009
The consumer price index for Germany in January 2010 rose 0.8% on January 2009 (December 2009: +0.9% on December 2008). Hence the inflation rate, measured by the change of the consumer price index , remained just under one percent at the beginning of the year. Compared with December 2009, the consumer price index was down by 0.6%. The estimate for January 2010 was confirmed.
