Enterprises, business notifications, Insolvencies

The first Business Response Burden Reduction Law, which came into effect on 26 August 2006, is aimed at reducing the statistical response burden on businesses. As stipulated by this law, we have abandoned the statistical evaluation of business re-registrations since September 2006. That means that the statistical offices of the federal states need no longer process the data on more than 220,000 changes in business registrations.

Business registrations and deregistrations with the trade offices continue to be statistically evaluated on an obligatory basis. In this way, approximately 1.6 million records can be processed per year and no additional cost is involved for respondents. In 2006 we recorded about 900,000 registrations and 700,000 deregistrations of businesses.
