Voluntary Surveys on Incomes, Expenditures and Living Conditions of Households
An essential component of the voluntary household surveys is the system of household budget surveys, which consists of the current household budget survey conducted annually and the five-yearly sample survey of income and expenditure.
The programme of voluntary household surveys also comprises the annual European Union Statistics on Income and Living Conditions (EU-SILC, in Germany the survey is called LEBEN IN EUROPA) which is comparable throughout the EU, the annual survey on the use of information and communication technologies by households and the time use surveys.
