Our press services for you

The Press Office of the Federal Statistical Office publishes most up-to-date statistical data in about 550 press releases per year. Using the navigation button “press releases”, you can research our vast range of information. Another press service, apart from the daily press releases, is the “Figure of the Week” (in German) released every Tuesday at 11 a.m.; this is a brief and memorable release coming alternately from various areas of official statistics.

To ensure that journalists are informed any time about future press releases of the Federal Statistical Office, we publish a weekly preview every Friday at 10 a.m., showing all press publications of the subsequent week. For long-term orientation, we also offer an annual release calendar for major economic indicators.

We provide journalists with a comprehensive and media-oriented information service: Under “information and service” you will find a list of direct contacts in the Press Office. We will also be pleased to organise interviews for you with Destatis experts. In addition, you may subscribe to a newsletter, either for all press publications of the Federal Statistical Office or just for specific subject areas.
