Import prices in September 2008: +7.6% on September 2007
WIESBADEN – As reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), in September 2008, the index of import prices increased by 7.6% from the corresponding month of the preceding year. In August and in July 2008 the annual rate of change was +9.3%, each. The index of import prices, excluding crude oil and mineral oil products, was 4.7% above the level of September 2007. From August to September 2008 the index of import prices fell by 1.0%. The index of export prices increased 2.8% in September 2008 from the corresponding month of the preceding year. In August and in July 2008 the annual rates of change were +2.9% and +3.3%, respectively. From August to September 2008 the index slightly fell (–0.1%). >>>Brief methodological description
