WIESBADEN – As reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), the index of producer prices for industrial products (domestic sales) for Germany fell by 7.8% in July 2009 from the corresponding month of the preceding year. This was the lowest year-on-year-rate since the start of producer price statistics in 1949. In June 2009, the annual rate of change was –4.6%. Compared with the preceding month, the index fell by 1.5% in July 2009 (–0.1% in June 2009). >>> Brief methodological description
