3rd quarter of 2009: higher real earnings due to both increasing earnings and declining prices
WIESBADEN – As reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), real earnings increased an average 0.6% in the third quarter of 2009 on the same quarter a year earlier. After a decline in the previous two quarters, this was the first rise in 2009. Gross monthly earnings were up 0.4% in the third quarter of 2009 compared to the same quarter a year earlier, while consumer prices were down 0.2% in the same period.
