Prices of air freight transports recovering slightly in third quarter of 2009
WIESBADEN – As reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), the prices of air freight transports departing from German airports were down by an average 39.8% in the third quarter of 2009 compared with the third quarter of 2008. When compared with the previous quarter, however, price rises of an average 5.1% were recorded. Hence the price index for air transport increased on the previous quarter for the first time in the third quarter of 2009, following drastic freight rate drops in the preceding three quarters.
