WIESBADEN – As reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), in October 2009, German insolvency courts reported 14,180 insolvencies; 2,848 of them referred to enterprises and 8,929 to consumers. The total number of insolvencies increased 6.7% compared with October 2008, enterprise insolvencies increased 15.9% and insolvencies of consumers increased 4.2%. From January to October 2009 135,517 insolvencies (+4.1%) were registered, 27,565 of which were enterprise insolvencies (+11.7%).
