Producer prices December 2009: –5.2% on December 2008
WIESBADEN – As reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), the index of producer prices for industrial products (domestic sales) for Germany fell by 5.2% in December 2009 from the corresponding month of the preceding year. In November and October 2009, the annual rates of change were –5.9% and –7.6%, respectively. Compared with the preceding month, the index fell slightly by 0.1% in December 2009 (+0.1% in November 2009). On an annual average in 2009, the index of producer prices for industrial products fell by 4.2% from the previous year. This was the most remarkable decline regarding the annual average since the start of the statistics in 1949.
