CeBIT 2010: Prices of notebooks have dropped by more than half since 2005
WIESBADEN – As reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) on the occasion of the CeBIT trade fair in Hannover, the consumer prices of notebooks and desktop PCs have dropped by more than half in the past five years: The prices of notebooks declined by 61.3% and those of desktop PCs by 58.8% between 2005 and 2009. Similar trends were observed for import prices. In 2009, the import prices of notebooks were 67.4% below the level of 2005. Over the same period, the import prices of desktop PCs dropped as well (–62.6%).
