Retail turnover in Germany in January 2010: –3.4% in real terms to January 2009
WIESBADEN – According to provisional results of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), retail turnover in January 2010 in Germany decreased 3.0% in nominal terms and 3.4% in real terms compared with the corresponding month in the previous year. The number of days open for sale was 25 in January 2010 and 26 in January 2009.
When adjusted for calendar and seasonal variations (CENSUS-X-12-ARIMA), the January turnover was in nominal terms 0.1% larger and in real terms equal to that (0.0%) in December 2009.
