Turnover in book retail trade declining a real 1.6% in 2009 on 2008
WIESBADEN – As reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) on the occasion of the Leipzig Book Fair, which will open its doors tomorrow, real turnover in book retail trade in Germany declined 1.6% in 2009 on 2008. After several years which had been characterised by turnover increases, this was the third year in a row when real turnover decreased in book retail trade. In 2007 and 2008, the latter recorded a year-on-year decline in real turnover of 0.1% and 2.7%, respectively.
