WIESBADEN – The volume of wine imports into Germany increased slightly in 2009 on 2008 while, at the same time, a decline was recorded in the value of wine imports. As is shown by provisional results of the foreign trade statistics of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), Germany imported 1.3 billion litres of wine to the value of Euro 1.5 billion last year. This was an increase of 16 million litres (+1.3%) compared to 2008. At the same time, the value of those imports declined by Euro 85 million (–5.2%). >>> Brief methodological description
