2nd quarter of 2010: turnover in the service sector up 5.3%
WIESBADEN – According to first calculations of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), turnover in selected service branches was up by a nominal 5.3% in total in the second quarter of 2010 compared with the second quarter of 2009. While turnover increased by 7.8% in transportation and storage, it was up 3.1% in information and communication. A turnover increase of 5.0% each was recorded for professional, scientific and technical activities and for administrative and support service activities. In calendar and seasonally adjusted terms, turnover in the sections covered increased by a total 4.0% in the second quarter of 2010 on the previous quarter.
