2.0% more business insolvencies in first half of 2010
WIESBADEN – As reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), in first half of 2010, German insolvency courts reported 84,502 insolvencies; 16,468 of them referred to enterprises and 53,864 to consumers. The total number of insolvencies increased 7.2% compared with first half of 2009, enterprise insolvencies increased 2.0% and insolvencies of consumers increased 11.6%. In June 2010, 14,377 insolvencies (+5.3%) were registered, 2,752 of which were enterprise insolvencies (–1.3%). Altogether the courts registered 9,297 consumer insolvencies, which were 10.2% more than in June 2009.
