Pay settlements often included one-off payments in the 1st half of 2010

New database of agreed wages and salaries available

WIESBADEN – As reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), many new pay settlements concluded in the first half year of 2010 mostly provided for one-off payments, which will not be considered for percentage increases in the future.

Employees in the chemical industry, for example, received only a one-off payment between Euro 550 und 715 for the period from May 2010 to March 2011, and a bonus of Euro 200 to Euro 260 provided that the enterprise they worked for was not substantially affected by the financial and economic crisis. In the pace setting pay settlement of the metal industry, the parties to the agreement negotiated a lump-sum payment of altogether Euro 320 for the current year and a pay increase for 2011. In the banking and rubber industries, too, lump-sum payments were agreed for the current year and pay increases for 2011.
