Retail turnover in Germanyin June 2011: – 1.0 % in real terms to June 2010


WIESBADEN – According to provisional results of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), retail turnover in June 2011 in Germany increased 0.5 % in nominal terms and decreased 1.0 % in real terms compared with the corresponding month in the previous year. The number of days open for sale was 24 in June 2011 and 26 in June 2010.

When adjusted for calendar and seasonal variations (CENSUS-X-12-ARIMA), the June turnover was in nominal terms 6.1 % and in real terms 6.3 % larger than that in May 2011.

Compared with the previous year, turnover in retail trade was in the first six months of 2011 in nominal terms 2.9 % and in real terms 1.3 % larger.
