More about Dr. Jannine van de Maat
Dr. Jannine van de Maat is coordinator Data and privacy officer at the Netherlands Institute for Social Research (Sociaal en Cultureel Planbureau, SCP). She advises and supports researchers with regards to questions about privacy, ethics, questionnaire development (for surveys), and data collection (including tendering and fieldwork monitoring). Furthermore, together with her team, Jannine contributes to SCP’s Basic Data Infrastructure and datamanagement activities. She is also a member of the Core Scientific Team of the European Social Survey.
Previously, Jannine worked as a methodologist and datamanager at the Netherlands Institute for Social Research, and before that as a PhD student and lecturer at the Institute for Political Science at the University of Leiden. Her dissertation looks at the effect of (not) using a don’t know option in surveys on the substantive results of surveys.
