Artificial intelligence (AI) is on everybody's lips and AI processes are entering all areas of life. The basis of all AI applications are data, which are used for AI training. While artificial intelligence relies on high-quality data, its methods and procedures offer new potentials and possibilities for collecting, processing and analysing large datasets, which traditional procedures struggle to handle due to their size.
At regular intervals, the ADM Arbeitskreis Deutscher Markt- und Sozialforschungsinstitute e. V., the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Sozialwissenschaftlicher Institute e. V. (ASI) and the Federal Statistical Office jointly organise scientific conferences on relevant current topics of data research. The 15th Scientific Conference to be held in Wiesbaden on 20 and 21 June 2024 is dedicated to artificial intelligence and its uses in data collection and data processing, but also to new issues associated with the application of AI. Data-holding institutions face a large number of new issues, particularly with regard to data quality, legal matters and ethics as artificial intelligence is used in statistics production and research.
We invite submissions of abstracts from the scientific community, administrative agencies, market and opinion research institutes and other institutions dealing with questions which relate to the use of artificial intelligence for data collection, data quality and data ethics. We welcome your methodology papers, theoretical discussions and examples of use cases on subjects such as (non-exhaustive list):
- AI in data collection
- AI and data quality
- AI in data analysis
- ethical issues of using AI
- data protection aspects of using AI
- AI in social sciences
- AI in market and opinion research
- AI in official statistics.
Please email your abstract in German or English (not more than 500 words) by 31 January 2024 to Institut@destatis.de. We will notify you by 29 February 2024 if your contribution has been selected for the conference programme.
