World Health Organization (WHO) - Regional Bureau for Europe

Portrait of the organization

The World Health Organization WHO is the leading authority for health within the United Nations system. It is responsible for providing guidance on global health matters, shaping the health research agenda, setting norms and standards, articulating evidence-based policy options, providing technical support to countries and monitoring and assessing health trends. The WHO-Regional Bureau for Europe in Copenhagen is one of six regional bureaus. The European Region of the WHO consists of 53 Member States including the former Soviet Republics.
