United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)

Portrait of the organization

The United Nations Development Programme is the worldwide development programme of the United Nations. It is an executive committee within the UN General Assembly and its headquarters are situated in New York. The UNDP works in more than 170 countries, working with them on their own solutions to global and national development challenges. In particular, the UNDP works internationally to help countries achieve the UN-Millennium Development Goals (MDG). The UNDP supports governments with knowledge and experience intermediation. Particular attention is placed on issues such as governance, reducing poverty, crisis prevention, environmental and energy issues, gender equality and combatting AIDS.
