Portrait of the organization

The World Steel Association (worldsteel) with headquarters in Brussels and Bejing was founded in 1967. It is one of the largest and most dynamic industry associations in the world. Worldsteel represents approximately 170 steel producers (including 17 of the world's 20 largest steel companies), national and regional steel industry associations, and steel research institutes. worldsteel members produce around 85% of the world's steel.
Worldsteel acts as the focal point for the steel industry, providing global leadership on all major strategic issues affecting the industry, particularly focusing on economic, environmental and social sustainability.
