Regional statistics

In its publications, the Federal Statistical Office mainly provides results for the Federation and the Länder and only in exceptional cases for administrative regions or districts. Regionalised results of federal statistics and of Länder statistics are offered by the statistical offices of the Länder on their homepages and in their own publications.

Central access to a harmonised stock of common data of the Federation and the Länder is provided by the Statistics Portal. Statistical information is supplied with a regional breakdown in comparable form there.

Regional database

The Regional database for Germany offers long-term statistical data for the Länder and their administrative districts and towns not attached to the latter. It provides users with the option to select both regions and reporting periods.

Regional atlas

The Regional Atlas offers interactive mapping tools with a choice of more than a hundred indicators. You will be led to a map of all German districts showing the regional distribution of such items as population density to tourism, and employment to social benefits. Options are provided for tabulation and various aggregations of statistical data.
