Logging in 2016: 52 million cubic metres of wood harvested
52 million cubic metres of wood were harvested in Germany in 2016 (bark not included). About three fourths (75 %) of the wood harvested was from coniferous trees such as spruce, fir, douglas fir, pine and larch. 43 % of the total was logged in private forests, well above on third (35 %) in Länder forests.
