More than half of the farmers apply slurry to their land

Approximately 166,000 agricultural holdings spread liquid farm manure on their land in 2010, this means slurry, liquid manure or liquid fermentation residue from biogas installations. This refers to 55% of all holdings in Germany which cultivated agricultural areas in 2010.

The plow dominates the tillage



In Germany plowing is the dominant process in the tillage. 56% of arable land (6.6 million hectares) were processed with the plow in the marketing year 2009/2010. Only 12 % of holdings avoiding plowing completely. This makes the meaning of the plow use clearly.
