Gas proceeds

Gas price ceiling in 2015: –2.7% on a year earlier

The price ceiling for gas sales to final consumers amounted to 3.96 cents per kilowatt hour in 2015. Based on provisional data, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that the price ceiling declined by 2.7% on 2014 when it was 4.07 cents per kilowatt hour.

Electricity proceeds

Electricity price ceiling in 2015: -4.4% on a year earlier

According to provisional data of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), the price ceiling for electricity sales to special contract customers was 12.69 cents per kilowatt hour in 2015. Destatis also reports that the price ceiling fell by 4.4% on 2014 when it had been 13.27 cents per kilowatt hour.

Industry

Energy consumption in industry down 0.7% in 2015

In 2015, the energy consumption in industry was 4,016 petajoules, a decrease of 0.7% compared with a year earlier. The reports that energetic consumption as such (e.g. for electricity and heat production) declined slightly by 0.3%, while the use for non-energetic purposes (e. g. as source material for chemical products) was down 2.7%. As in the previous years, the main energy sources in industry were natural gas (27%), electricity (21%) as well as mineral oils and mineral oil products (20%).
