2011: Receipts and net income of practices for public health patients: receipts from private patients make the difference

The practices for public health patients in Germany obtained average receipts of 486,000 euros in 2011. Across all practices for public health patients, the average net profit per practice was 235,000 euros in 2011. The income situation of a practice for public health patients strongly depends on the proportion of receipts obtained by treating private patients and by providing Individual Health Services for public health patients.

Practices for public health patients are considered to comprise all practices obtaining receipts from out-patient and in-patient activities funded by the statutory health insurance and amounting to at least 1 euro.
