47.5 million tonnes of wastes incinerated in waste disposal plants



47.5 million tonnes of wastes were incinerated in 2015, which made it the 7th year in a row where the amount of incinerated wastes was higher than the amount of deposited wastes. Compared to the previous year the amount of deposited wastes decreased by 0.6 million tonnes to 44.4 million tonnes.

Generation of waste stagnating in Germany

According to provisional results, the amount of waste generated in Germany was 402.2 million tonnes in 2015. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that the amount generated remained almost unchanged (+0.3%) compared with a year earlier (2014: 401.0 million tonnes).
