Number of pupils up 0.3% in school year 2016/2017

According to provisional results, roughly 11.0 million pupils are receiving education in schools of general education and vocational schools in Germany in school year 2016/2017. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that this is a slight increase of 0.3% compared with the previous school year.

In 2016, roughly 453,000 pupils in Germany attained the qualification to enter a university or university of applied sciences.
