Accidents, Violance and Suicides of Children and Youths - Germany as compared to Europe

In the ten-year period 2001 to 2010, a remarkable downtrend regarding fatal injuries was observed for the age group of children between 1 and 14 years: the figure dropped in Germany by 37 % (from 4.7 to 3.0 per 100,000) and across Europe by 44 % (from 6.6 to 3.7 per 100,000).

2013: One in two adults in Germany is overweight

In 2013 almost 16 % of the population declared themselves impaired by health problems (15 %) or injured by accidents (1 %). Over half of the invalid (53 %) and two-thirds of the injured persons (67 %) were ill or injured up to six weeks maximum. On average an illness of the up to six weeks invalid took about ten days, an injury 16 days.
