5% of the households do not have a mobile phone

5% of the households in Germany did not have a mobile phone (for example, a traditional cell phone or a smartphone) at the beginning of 2016. Within ten years, the equipment rate of mobile phones rose by 15 percentage points, that is, from just over 80% of the households in 2006 to 95% of the households at the beginning of 2016.
