Annual Report 2016 has been published

Do figures take on a greater importance in a "post-factual" age? This is the subject Professor Klaus Töpfer, retired Federal Minister and sustainability expert, discusses in the Annual Report 2016. In an interview on "sustainable communication" he makes important suggestions on how people can be reached more effectively by facts.

Uta Meier-Gräwe, Professor of Household and Family Sciences, gives an insight into the subject of time use studies in the Annual Report. This interview centres on unpaid work done in households.

Other subjects the Annual Report 2016 deals with are new digital data, register use and the development of geo-referenced data and applications in official statistics. And then there is information about the Federal Statistical Office itself: on the number of staff, budget funds available and skills development.
