Publication Studies on the influence of multinational enterprise groups on gross national income

With increasing globalisation, the business activities of large multinational enterprise groups often span several national economies. Given their complex structures, the correct statistical recording of these activities poses a considerable challenge. Double counting and incorrect coverage must be avoided, as this can affect the validity of derived macroeconomic indicators, such as the gross national income (GNI). The article explains how the risks of globalisation for the calculation of the gross national income were examined in the context of a GNI reservation, what results were achieved and which approaches Germany takes in this connection.
