WIESBADEN – The number of recipients of upgrading training assistance in 2015 declined for the first time after seven years. Compared with the previous year, the number of recipients taking part in an upgrading training activity was down 5.7% (9,800). The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that roughly 162,000 people received assistance pursuant to the Upgrading Training Assistance Act in Germany in 2015.
About two thirds of the recipients were men. Their number was down 5.5% to 111,000 compared with 2014. The number of women receiving such assistance fell by 6.1% to 51,000 in the same period.
