WIESBADEN – In the first quarter of 2016, general government in Germany spent just under 8.7 million euros on benefits of the education and participation package in accordance with the Act on Benefits for Asylum-seekers. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that roughly 65% of the expenditure was made for 6 to 13 year old recipients and roughly 20% for the age group of the 14 to 17 year olds.
