WIESBADEN – In accordance with the provisions of the Hospital Fees Act, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) publishes the reference value for hospitals, as it is called. It indicates the average annual percentage change of hospital costs which is due only to changed prices or earnings. The reference value for the second half of 2015 and the first half of 2016 is 1.54% as compared with the same period one year earlier (second half of 2014/first half of 2015). The sub-reference value for staff costs is 2.39%, that for material costs 0.19%.
