WIESBADEN – The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that, in Germany, 12,666 professional qualifications acquired in a foreign country were recognised in 2015 as fully equivalent to the relevant qualifications obtained in Germany. In the previous year, the figure was 11,541 (+10%). In 2015, a notification of limited equivalence was issued for 3,996 applications (2014: 2,766; +44%). This includes especially notifications involving the obligation to take a compensatory measure and notifications of partial equivalence.
