WIESBADEN – The price ceiling for gas sales to final consumers amounted to 3.96 cents per kilowatt hour in 2015. Based on provisional data, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that the price ceiling declined by 2.7% on 2014 when it was 4.07 cents per kilowatt hour. 

The price ceiling is defined by law as the average proceeds per kilowatt hour. It is calculated from the gas supplied to all final consumers and shown exclusive of VAT.
