Press Retail turnover in October 2016: –1.0 % in real terms on October 2015

WIESBADEN – According to provisional results of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), retail turnover in October 2016 in Germany decreased in real terms 1.0% and in nominal terms 0.4% compared with the corresponding month of the previous year. The number of days open for sale was 25 in October 2016 and 26 in September 2015.

Compared with the previous year, turnover in retail trade was in the first ten months 2016 in real terms 1.8% and in nominal terms 2.0% larger than in in the corresponding period of the previous year.

When adjusted for calendar and seasonal variations (Census-X-12-ARIMA), the October turnover was in real terms 2.4% and in nominal terms 2.6% larger than that in September 2016.
